You've decided it's time to lose weight and get healthy. Of course

Don't let your diet become your life. Reward yourself when you
meet goals. Allow for "free" days, such as holidays
or big events. And if you go off for a day or even a week, don't
give up; you didn't gain your weight by eating too much the week
of Christmas - a few "bad" days won't halt your progress
unless you let them.
Knowing you can be successful is step number one to losing the
weight you want to lose and being the healthy new you. It's more
than just knowing it, however; you have to be ready. You can look
at yourself in the mirror every day and think that you need to lose
50 lbs., but until you've made that commitment to yourself, you'll
be stuck in a cycle of loss and gain.
